Body safety mandates like Erin's Law and others aim to protect children from sexual abuse by educating them about awareness and prevention. This webinar will equip you with the knowledge and strategies to effectively teach this important but sensitive topic to students.

We'll explore:

  • Age-appropriate teaching methods: How to discuss sexual abuse with children in a way that is both informative and sensitive to their developmental needs.
  • Building trust and open communication: Creating a safe and supportive environment where children feel comfortable disclosing any concerns they may have.
  • Empowering children to speak up: Teaching children about healthy boundaries, safe and unsafe touches, and the importance of reporting any suspicious behavior.
  • Addressing student, staff, and family concerns: How to navigate potential discomfort and address questions or concerns that may arise during the education process.

This webinar will provide you with the tools and confidence to effectively educate students about sexual abuse prevention and help create a safer environment for all children.

Childhood Victories, Inc.

Deanna Hynes endured sexual abuse from her biological father throughout her childhood. While she found the courage to tell at 13 years old, her cries for help were ignored by her mother. Knowing she wasn’t going to be helped, Deanna stopping asking for help and buried the family secret.

After 7 years of silence, Deanna disclosed to her boyfriend. This began her journey of advocacy and education. Since 2014, Deanna has presented to over 150,000 on sexual abuse through Erin’s Law. In November of 2018, Deanna’s father was convicted and sentenced to a total of 60 years for the abuse against her sister. In April of 2019 he accepted a 6-year plea agreement for the abuse against Deanna, ending a 4-year court process to seek justice. While being a fierce advocate for victims and survivors, Deanna is also a mom, wife, and sometimes runner!
