Participants will enhance their current budgeting processes by developing an understanding for and applying a strategic planning process. Guiding questions and principles to effectively address the integration of several funding sources (local, state, federal, etc.) and how to assess competing priorities will be shared. Specific action steps for addressing district inequities and deficiencies for Students with Disabilities (SWD) will be covered as part of the budgetary strategic planning process. Participants will leave the session with a template and beginning steps to ensure they are getting the biggest return on their investments and maximizing student outcomes. Participants will be able to:

1) Identify the guiding principles for a budgetary strategic planning process.

2) Apply the principles to multiple budget sources.

3) Identify and prioritize key focus areas based on individual department and district/school needs.

 4) Articulate a clear and concise communication tool kit to explain/defend strategic budgetary decisions.

5) Apply research based risk/benefit ratio formula to ensure budgetary decisions are worth pursuing.
