Dealing with challenging behavior continues to be among the greatest concerns of teachers. When basic classroom management is sound, but behavioral challenges persist at high rates or intensities, educators may be especially stressed. While it is critical to ensure that the basics are there (e.g., expectations are clear, appropriate behavior is reinforced, social skills are actively taught), this webinar will offer you some applied strategies that may be necessary to address more persistent behavioral concerns. Maintaining an antecedent, preventive approach, we cover several specific strategies, including behavioral momentum, choice, and precision requests.
After this webinar, you will be able to: 1) Build on your understanding of classroom management to identify more intense behavioral challenges. 2) Understand the importance of intensive, preventative behavioral supports. 3) Implement specific strategies to address challenging behaviors.
