This is session 2/3 of the CEC and AIR PD Series. Implementing an MTSS Framework within Secondary Settings: Discover the essential components of MTSS in secondary settings in this engaging session. Educators will learn how to strengthen core instruction by using assessment data to make informed decisions that enhance universal instruction in content areas. Additionally, participants will gain valuable insights into selecting intervention programs, learning what to look for and consider to ensure the best fit for their needs. Jon Potter, PhD,isa Senior Technical Assistance Consultant with AIR.In this role, Dr. Potter provides technical assistance through the NationalCenter on Intensive Intervention and the National Center on Multi-TieredSystems of Supports. He has over 20 years of experience supporting school,district, and state teams on topics related to MTSS including data-baseddecision making, intensive intervention, and literacy instruction andassessment. Previously, he has worked as a school psychologist, an adjunctprofessor, and a state-level RTI coach in early literacy. He recentlyco-authored the book UntanglingData-Based Decision Making: A Problem-Solving Model to Enhance MTSS.Dr. Potter holds a Ph.D. in school psychology from theUniversity of Oregon.

Jason Harlacher

Jason Harlacher, PhD, is a senior researcher with American Institutes for Research. In that role, he serves as the Director of the MTSS Center providing consultation and technical assistance to state and district leaders on MTSS. He is also the co-director for the Wyoming MTSS Center and provides technical assistance (TA) with the National Center for Intensive Intervention. He has extensive expertise in classroom management, data-based decision making, intensive intervention, and positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS). Previously, he has worked as a school psychologist, district-level coach, adjunct professor, and state-level TA provider. He is an award-winning author, having most recently co-authored Untangling Data-Based Decision Making: A Problem-Solving Model to Enhance MTSS. He earned his PhD in school psychology from the University of Oregon.
