Executive function describes a set of skills that allow humans to plan, organize, reason, initiate tasks, and self-regulate. These skills develop over an extended period of time, making them vulnerable to interference or challenge. Executive dysfunction greatly impacts student achievement and is often an associated feature of developmental or learning disabilities, or caused by a mismatch between a students' neurodevelopmental stage and the demands of their environment. This webinar will focus on ways in which teachers can use appropriate strategies to support children's developing executive skills, while helping improve academic performance as well.
