The IEP process is full of legal mandates and requirements that cause anxiety for all special education teachers and can be particularly daunting for new special educators. A productive IEP process requires that the IEP team - teachers, families, and related services providers - have the resources they need to collaborate to create measurable, legally defensible, and truly individualized IEPs for each student. Catherine Creighton Martin and Clara Hauth, authors of "The Survival Guide for New Special Education Teachers", will guide participants through the IEP process - from assessment to writing to goals to monitoring progress.

After this webinar, you will be able to: 1) Describe ways to collaborate with other teachers and related service providers to develop effective and measurable IEP goals. 2) Discuss strategies to meet the legal requirements of IEPs. 3) Identify and gather the data necessary for an effective IEP. 4) Explain several strategies to effectively work with families in the IEP process.

Presented by Clara Hauth, Ph.D. and Catherine Creighton (Martin) Thompson, Ph.D.
