Students do not learn in a vacuum. Their ability to attend, participate, communicate, and engage is influenced by the interaction between their nervous system, sensory experiences, emotional state, and environmental demands.
This session introduces practical strategies from the Self-Regulation and Mindfulness (SAM) Program alongside the Contextual Sensory Investigation framework developed by Dr. Varleisha Lyons.
Participants will learn how to identify environmental and sensory contributors to dysregulation, support executive functioning, and implement evidence-informed mindfulness and self-regulation practices that promote engagement, inclusion, and academic success.
